there were some margaritas
today was HUGE. I am tired, wrecked even, and I honestly do not want to drive a 4WD again for a bit.
today was driver training! hours of relentless attempts at the course and corrections of breaking, steering and whatever else driving involves: "and that cone you hit, that child is now dead". it's all physics (or really, physics for humans living in the modern world), and that is still beyond someone who couldn't comprehend projectile and oscillating motion in Year 12 math.
would I say that I think I am certainly a better driver because of it - yes, for sure. but also, I got to speed and slam on the brakes for funsies, so some Nowra-part of me thought that was totes cool. then we ate nachos and drank margaritas, and that was special Nikki-heaven, especially when we are now on the road until Sunday.
tomorrow we head north to see parts of the country I would never have dreamt of. I am pushing my tired mind to be constantly mindful of how lucky I am to be here, and how right here in this moment I need to be cognisant of the feels, vibes, atmosphere and environment I am in - boy, is it complex (more complex than boys even, which, TBH I have sworn off).
